The second season of the Road Safety World Series T20 is currently in progress with some of the prominent retired players turning back the clock. India's legendary cricketer and India Legends skipper Sachin Tendulkar is treating the fans with some excellent shots in the game against England Legends. The game is currently being played in Dehradun and the fans are certainly enjoying the master blaster turn back the clock with his batting.
As far as the match is concerned, it was curtailed to 15 overs per side due to persistent rain at the venue. England Legends won the toss and opted to field first. But it didn't take much time for Sachin Tendulkar to lead from the front as he left the crowd delighted with his explosive batting.
He took on Chris Tremlett in the third over of the innings to smash him for 16 runs in three balls. His first six was the lap shot and then stepped out of his crease to hit the bowler over his head. The over ended with Sachin targetting the mid-wicket boundary for a four.
Schofield gets the better of Sachin Tendulkar
The carnage continued in the next couple of overs as well with the 49-year-old taking on Jade Dernbach and Rikki Clarke as well. At one stage, the master was batting with the strike-rate of 264.3 and it seemed like he will get to his half-century in record time. But as the powerplay overs ended, the run-flow came down. Sachin's opening partner Naman Ojha also got out in the sixth over.
However, India Legends suffered yet another blow in the seventh over with Sachin Tendulkar pushing one back to the bowler Chris Schofield. But his 40 off just 20 deliveries entertained the jam-packed crowd in Dehradun proving that the class is permanent. His knock also gave India Legends a brilliant start to post a huge total on the board.
