BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma has sent Twitter into a meltdown as the former Indian cricketer revealed the behind-the-scenes events of the infamous spat between former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli in ZEE Media's exclusive sting operation. The chief selector also made a startling revelation regarding the use of 'fake injection' by the Indian cricketers.

Chetan Sharma's sting operation has sent shockwaves in the cricketing community with potentially extreme implications for the sport in the country. The BCCI chief selector has shed light on an intriguing angle in the now infamous Sourav Ganguly-Virat Kohli spat, stating that Ganguly had asked the then-Indian captain to reconsider his decision to quit T20I captaincy.

Sharma claimed that Kohli might not have heard the former BCCI chief's plea and tried to tarnish the image of the former Indian skipper in the media during the South Africa tour. The sting operation revealed that the former BCCI president wanted only one captain for the white-ball formats, hoping Kohli would continue leading the side in the longest format of the game.

Sharma made a bold claim stating that Ganguly was simply not in favour of Virat leading the team in the shorter formats, leading to the appointment of Rohit Sharma as the captain of the national team. He dismissed talks of a rift between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli but stated that both players have big egos, similar to that of movie stars.

He dropped another bombshell, revealing that several 'prominent' Indian cricketers use 'fake injections', which go undetected by the anti-doping agencies, announcing themselves fit ahead of major tournaments. He also claimed that he is in constant contact with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and other first-team players, who have immense faith in the former Indian cricketer.

Sharma revealed that Rohit will no longer be part of the T20I setup with star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya taking over the captaincy duties in the shortest format of the game. He stated that young Indian batter Shubman Gill is accommodated in the T20I team while giving 'rest' to first-team players Kohli and Rohit.

The chief selector also claimed that it was his decision to bring in the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Shubman Gill and several other players to the Indian national team. He claimed the number to be around 15-20 players.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the explosive sting operation of Chetan Sharma:
