On the third Sunday of June, the world celebrates Father's Day, and cricketers from all over the world took to their official social media handles to pay respect and show their love to their 'superheroes.'
Father's Day is celebrated to honour father and father figures, as well as fatherhood, paternal connections, and the role of fathers in society. Every individual looks up to their parents, and so do the cricketers. Their parents have played a massive role behind their success on the international platform.
Legendary former India captains, like Sachin Tendulkar and Mithali Raj, were among others who took to Twitter and paid gratitude to their fathers on this special day. Meanwhile, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) also posted a collage of some of their players with their kids and wished them a happy Father's Day.
The Master Blaster posted an old photo of himself with his father, along with a heartfelt message about how much he misses him. The India great said that his father’s thinking, beliefs, and parenting ideas were well before their time. Meanwhile, India young batting sensation Shubman Gill posted a couple of photos of himself with his 'Dad,' writing, "You are beyond words for me."
Former India batter Suresh Raina penned an affectionate message on Father's Day and posted a picture of his father and mother with his two kids. Meanwhile, India opener KL Rahul shared two photos, one with his father and one with his father-in-law, describing them as "two of the most important men" in his life.
India batter Mayank Agarwal shared a collage of his childhood photo with his father and one with himself and his son and captioned it, "Like father like son," with a heart emoji. Umesh Yadav, on the other hand, celebrated the occasion by sharing some photos with his daughter.
Mithali Raj shared a picture with her father along with a heartfelt note, stating, "You have always been a mentor to me, but more than that you have been my staunch supporter in all the life choices I have made." Meanwhile, England bowler Kate Cross shared a couple of 'lovely' pictures with her father and captioned it, "Happy Father’s Day to the best there is."
Here is how cricketers extended their wishes on the heartfelt occasion:

My father was loving, not strict. Instead of fear, he operated with love. He taught me so much and meant the world to me. His thinking, values and his idea of parenting were far ahead of his time.
