The 2nd T20I of the ongoing five-game series between India and Australia saw both sides face off at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, November 26. The clash began with the Indian team coming into bat first after losing the toss.

After losing the toss, the Men in Blue put in a brilliant performance with the bat as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad propelled the side to an excellent start. Jaiswal scored 53 runs in 25 deliveries, with Gaikwad scoring 58 runs in 43 balls. Furthermore, Ishan Kishan looked excellent with the bat, scoring 52 runs in 32 deliveries. With the exceptional start that the Men in Blue received, the knock of Rinku Singh proved to be the cherry on top.

The 26-year-old scored an unbeaten 31 in just nine deliveries and propelled India to a mammoth total of 235. As for Australia, the side only managed to take four wickets in the first innings. Nathan Ellis was the highest wicket-taker with three wickets to his name while Marcus Stoinis struck once.

Excellent bowling propels India to second T20I win

Aiming to defend the target of 236 runs, the Indian team put in a brilliant performance with the ball. Australia opened the innings with Steve Smith and Matt Short getting sent back to the pavilion for 19 runs each.

With the top-order collapsing, the middle-order stabilised things for the Men in Yellow. Marcus Stoinis was the highest run-getter with 45 runs to his name while Tim David and Matthew Wade scored quickfire 37 and unbeaten 42.

However, the Indian team did a good job of defending the target. Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi took three wickets each while Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Mukesh Kumar got one each. India managed to limit Australia to 191, eventually winning the game 44 runs to gained a 2-0 lead.
