India and England concluded their five-game Test series as the hosts clinched the series after winning four of the five matches that were played. Both sides took centre stage at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala for the final Test on March 7, and the clash began with England batting first.

The visitors posted a total of 218 runs in the first innings with Zak Crawley being the highest run-getter with 79 runs to his name. As for India, Kuldeep Yadav was the highest wicket-taker with five wickets to his name, R Ashwin took four wickets, and Jadeja struck once.

Coming out to bat, India put forth a brilliant performance. Yashasvi Jaiswal opened with a knock of 57 runs. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill completed their centuries, scoring 103 and 110 runs, respectively as India posted a total of 477 runs in the first innings. Looking to minimise their trail, England failed to perform with the bat. Openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett failed to go big, Joe Root scored 84 runs with Jonny Bairstow adding 39 as England were bundled out for 195 runs, as India won the game by an innings and 64 runs.

 1. Ravichandran Ashwin becomes first Indian to take 36 fifers in Tests

Veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin made sure he entered the record books once again, as with his five-wicket haul in the second innings of the clash, Ashwin went past Anil Kumble and became the first Indian player to take 36 fifers in Test cricket for the country

 2. Ashwin-Bairstow compete in their 100th Test

 Ravichandran Ashwin and England batter Jonny Bairstow saw themselves compete in their 100th Test. Both veterans in their field, Ashwin and Bairstow made for memorable outings in their 100th Test. 

 3. Anderson completes 700 Test wickets

Veteran English pacer James Anderson competed in his 400th international game as he took centre stage at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Furthermore, taking two wickets, Anderson also breached the 700 wicket mark in Test cricket.

 4. Rohit Sharma-Shubman Gill made merry with memorable centuries

Ace Indian batters Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma looked to be in sublime form as they completed their centuries in the first innings of the game, helping India post a huge total on the board and maintain a big lead.
