PR vs JSK, Eliminator, SA20 2024 Highlights: Unmissable video recap, turning points & more

Joburg Super Kings were one of the most unpredictable teams in the SA20 2024. They were inconsistent and were on the verge of elimination at one point. However, skipper Faf du Plessis turned their fortunes with three half-centuries in the last four matches and courtesy of the same, they have now made it to Qualifiers 2, where they will face Durban's Super Giants in Johannesburg.

Against Paarl Royals, Du Plessis and Leus de Plooy once again stole the show. However, it was the bowlers who started the fireworks. Playing his first match in the tournament, Sam Cook picked up four wickets while Nandre Burger dismissed three. Royals openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler were in decent form coming to the match but none of them could capitalize. Skipper David Miller tried to play a mature knock but no one supported him in the middle as they were bundled out for 138 runs.

When it came to the chase, JSK openers were in a hurry to finish the game. Leus made 68 runs off just 43 deliveries while Du Plessis hit 55* runs off 34 deliveries. Courtesy of their blistering knocks, Joburg won the match by nine wickets and with 40 balls remaining. They have been ruthless as of late and if the team manages to keep up with the momentum, Durban might have a tough time in the middle in Qualifier 2.

Meanwhile, that was the end of Paarl Royals' campaign in the ongoing SA20. They looked sharp throughout the season and finished third on the points table but couldn’t progress beyond the Eliminator. They have delivered some memorable moments in the tournament, but need some changes and consistent performers in the next season to challenge for the title.

Joburg, on the other hand, will be confident of their chances to qualify for the finals. Durban suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Eastern Cape in Qualifier 1 and will be low on confidence, which the team can capitalise on.
