The premier cricket carnival of Cricket South Africa is inching closer and with that, the SA20 2025 auctions kicked off on Tuesday, October 1, in Cape Town. After some impressive battles among the teams, notable players in the likes of Reeza Hendricks triggered a money war between the franchises.

However, when finally it was the turn of South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma, things were not merry just like the last time. Notably, back in 2022, the leader of the national side had remained unsold. But a tale in the twist happened later on, Sunrisers Eastern Cape decided to get him onboard in place of Tom Abell, after his good showing against England in an ODI series.

But the lady luck failed to favour the Protea this time again and the fans have gone into a frenzy after Bavuma was not picked by any SA20 franchise yet again. Meanwhile, speaking of Temba Bavuma's T20 cricket credentials, the batter has featured in 131 T20s so far, whereby he has scored with a reasonable strike rate of 123.39. This displays that he may not be as destructive in terms of strokemaking but he often plays the role of anchoring an innings quite efficiently. Albeit, fans have mixed opinions on the South African not getting any interest from any of the franchises.
