Australia Women won the fourth T20I match against India in another run-fest clash to seal the five-match away series on Saturday (December 17). The star all-rounder Ellyse Perry smashed 72* off 42 balls to help Australia post a big 188/3 total while batting first and then the bowlers managed to restrict the hosts to 181/5 total to earn a thrilling seven-run win to take a 3-1 lead in the series.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bowl first at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium. Both teams made one change to their playing XI from the last match with Harleen Deol replacing Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Heather Graham coming in place of Nicola Carey for Australia.

The star all-rounder Deepti Sharma dismissed the star T20I batter Beth Mooney on just two runs in the fourth over to give India a flying start. Australian captain Alyssa Healy started well from the other end and smashed 30* runs off just 21 balls but injured her calf while taking a run in the sixth over which ended her innings. Radha Yadav then bowled out in-form batter Tahlia McGrath on a beautiful yorker delivery in the next over to put Australia under pressure.

But the star all-rounder Perry, who won the player of the match award for scoring 75 runs in the last match, dominated the Indian bowlers again with another quick and impressive fifty. She pulled off a crucial 94-run partnership for the third wicket with Ashleigh Gardner.

Gardner contributed 42 runs and Perry smashed 72* off 42 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes. But it was Grace Harris who guided Australia to a huge 188/3 total by smashing unbeaten 27 runs off just 12 balls. For India, Deepti took two wickets while Radha grabbed one.

While chasing a mammoth target, India lost both their in-form openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma in the powerplay overs. Gardner dismissed Smriti on 16 runs in the third over while Darcie Brown took Shafali's big wicket in the sixth over. Alana King then dismissed Jemimah Rodrigues in the next over to put Australia in a comfortable position to win the match.

But Harmanpreet took charge and smashed 46 runs off 30 balls and pulled off a crucial 72-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Devika Vaidya to balance the game. The in-form youngster Richa Ghosh put in a brave effort in the death overs by scoring an unbeaten 40 runs off 19 balls and Deepti smashed two fours in the last over but India fell just seven runs short in the chase.
