Twitter Reactions: Ibrahim Zadran's Colombo ton leads Afghanistan fightback

Day 3 of the ongoing one-off Test between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo saw both sides continue to maintain their dominance in the clash. The day began with Sri Lanka batting at a score of 410 runs with the loss of six wickets.

Sri Lanka put forth a brilliant performance with the bat in the first innings, Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal completed their centuries, scoring 141 and 107 runs, respectively.

Wicketkeeper Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 27 runs in 33 deliveries, and Sri Lanka posted a total of 439 runs in the first innings. As for Afghanistan, Naveed Zadran was the highest wicket-taker, with four wickets to his name.

Qais Ahmad and Nijat Masood took two wickets each. Coming into the game aiming to mount up a big lead and post a reasonable target for the hosts to chase down, Afghanistan got off to a stellar start. 

Opener Ibrahim Zadran completed a brilliant century, staying unbeaten on a score of 101 runs in 217 deliveries. Zadran mounted the pressure early on Sri Lanka.

Furthermore, Noor Ali Zadran scored 47 runs in 136 deliveries, but he was dismissed by Asitha Fernando. The day ended with Rahmat Shah staying unbeaten on a score of 46 runs in 98 deliveries alongside Zadran.

Afghanistan posted a total of 199 runs in the second innings with just one wicket taken by Fernando. As the day ended, Afghanistan trailed against Sri Lanka by 42 runs. As Day 4 approaches, the visitors will hope to post a big target for them to chase down.
