The exhilarating action continued in the Indian Premier League 2023 as Gujarat Titans took on Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, May 07, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Lucknow Super Giants captain, Krunal Pandya, won the toss and invited Gujarat Titans to bat first.
Gujarat’s famed opening duo of Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha walked out to the middle to give their side a blazing start. Saha came out with a clear intent of going after the bowling right from the word go and smacked consecutive fours against Mohsin Khan in the very first over to get his innings going.
He further clobbered Avesh Khan for a six and a boundary off consecutive deliveries in the next over as LSG captain Krunal Pandya looked frantic. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed 21 runs in Mohsin’s next over to move an inch closer to his half-century. The 38-year-old reached the 50-run landmark in emphatic fashion off just 20 balls, as he came down the track and smacked Yash Thakur over long on for a maximum.

Even after the powerplay was over, Saha showed no respite and continued to attack and hammered three boundaries against Kyle Mayers in the eighth over to move to 69 clobbering nine fours and four sixes. After ten overs GT were 121/0 with Saha on 74* off 37 balls and Gill on 43* off 24 balls.
Saha's knock finally came to an end on 81 off 43 balls as he was caught on the boundary by Prerak Mankad in the 13th over.
