Twitter Reactions: Cricketing Universe salutes Zaheer Khan: As Rajiv Shukla tweeted in the morning that Zaheer Khan will announce his retirement today, so did he. Zak uploaded a two page retirement statement on twitter, with a caption “I bid adieu to my career in international cricket. I look forward to signing off with IPL 9. #ZaksNewBeginning.”
His retirement note started with- New Beginning… The toughest call in a cricketing career is when onehas to walk away from the game itself. You almost ‘will’ yourself and push that few, extra miles but then thebody, after nearly two decades, decides not to respond.

His former teammates, legends he had played along, some of the fiercest opponents, the commentators who were out there in the box describing, praising, criticizing him during the game took to twitter to congratulate him on a wonderful career. Most of them wished him success with the future ahead.
Sachin called him one of the coolest fast bowler he knew and also someone who had this ability to out think the batsman. Kohli calls him one of the greatest fast bowlers and an inspiration for many like him.
Australian all-rounder David Warner who a fierce rivalry with Zak on the field, said it was a privilege for him to play against Zaheer and wished him best for the future endeavours.
