The Feroz Shah Kotla stadium witnessed the hosts end their losing streak as they defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad. With this win, Delhi Daredevils climbed up to the sixth position in the points table as Hyderabad stayed at their third position. Earlier in the day, it was captain Karun Nair who won the toss as Daredevils elected to field first. Angelo Mathews was brought in for Sam Billings while Jayant Yadav replaced Shahbaz Nadeem in the playing XI. For SRH, Bipul Sharma made way for Deepak Hooda.

David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan again provided a kickstart to the SRH innings as they put up a 53-run partnership for the first wicket off just 32 balls. Mohammed Shami then bowled a stunning yorker to dismiss Warner. Kane Williamson scored a run-a-ball 24 while Dhawan too failed to capitalise on a good start.

Just when the team needed someone to cash in, Yuvraj Singh stepped up with a fantastic inning of 70 runs from just 41 balls. Moises Henriques too played a quickfire cameo of 25 (18)* as SRH scored a spectacular 185/3 in their quota of 20 overs.

Shami picked up 2 wickets but went for 36 runs. Amit Mishra was splendid with 1/23 while Jayant Yadav was also economical. Chris Morris didn’t have a great day in the field while Kagiso Rabada was taken to the cleaners as he went for 59 runs in his quota of four overs.

Delhi Daredevils needed to bat really well if they were to chase a target of 185. The youngsters in the top order produced sensational performances with the bat. The likes of Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, all made significant contributions.

At the end, it was left upon Corey Anderson to finish the game for DD and he finished off in style with a spectacular 41 (24)*. Chris Morris also played a handy cameo as Delhi went on to win the game by 6 wickets and 5 balls to spare.

Mohammed Siraj took a couple of wickets but was expensive. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar managed to get the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, Siddharth Kaul dismissed Nair. The other bowlers failed to make any difference as they went for runs.
