The Indian Cricket Board has vehemently declined the use of the DRS system for some time. However, for the ongoing Test series against England, the DRS was well and truly used and implement despite a few stakeholders stating that they’d be uncomfortable with the idea as well.
Those stakeholders had a reason to lash out at the DRS system yet again as the ball-tracking of the DRS took forever to load when Ravichandran Ashwin asked for the review when he believed that he had trapped Alastair Cook leg-before. Although it would be eventually turned down, the fact that they were made to wait for the decision was somewhat nerve-wracking and slightly exhilarating
Although it would be eventually turned down, the fact that they were made to wait for the decision was somewhat nerve-wracking and slightly exhilarating for the interested parties to say the least. Kumar Dharmasena kept making the announcement, the ball-tracking simply did not come up.
Even Joe Root, who was opening with Alastair Cook on the day also went over to Marias Erasmus to inquire the reason for the delay. However, despite all this, the ball-tracking finally showed up and ensured that there were no glitches as Alastair Cook was adjudged not out, much to the India team’s anger.
Social media handle twitter erupted with a whole host of tweets on what took place on the day with a few hilarious ones as well. Cook would eventually lose his wicket a few minutes later when he completely missed a flighted delivery from Ashwin.
In the context of the match, the Indians are on the brink of completing an impressive win after having taken a lead in excess of 100 runs in the first innings. This would eventually mean that the 2-1 comeback would not be one that would be possible as far as England is concerned.
Here are some of the most hilarious tweets:
