In what was a hard-fought series, England won a thriller in the decider at Chittagong. Earlier in the day, Jos Buttler won the toss as the visitors elected to field first. Liam Plunkett and Sam Billings were brought in the England XI while Bangladesh persisted with their winning combination from the last game.

Bangladesh were off to an enthralling start as Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes put up 80 runs for the first wicket. The top 3 lost their wickets in the 40s as they couldn’t convert the starts into a big one. After their dismissals, Bangladesh lost wickets in a flurry as they were reduced from 176/3 to 192/6.

With Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah back in the hut, Mushfiqur Rahim who was going through a lean patch stepped up with a timely brisk half century as he along with Mosaddek Hossain took Bangladesh to a formidable total of 277/6.

Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets. Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes also managed to get a wicket each. Woakes was expensive as he was taken away to the cleaners by the Bangladesh batsmen.

A target of 278 was always going to be uneasy under the lights. However, England were off to a rollicking start. Billings and later Ben Duckett scored spectacular half centuries to set the platform for the run chase. England in a spot of bother after Duckett got out as they still were almost 100 runs shy of the target.

The finisher Stokes first with Jos Buttler and then Woakes again took things in their hand as England went on to win the game by 4 wickets. Bangladesh dropped catches and leaked away runs at crucial stages as they gifted England a series victory by 2-1.

Mashrafe Mortaza got a couple of wickets as he pipped Shakib to become the highest wicket taker for Bangladesh. Shafiul Islam also took two wickets but was a bit expensive. Twitter was all praise for Billings and later Stokes who finished off things in style for the visitors. Bangladesh got trolled for their fielding lapses.

Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:
