He is flamboyant, young and the man of the moment in Indian cricket. Hardik Pandya doesn’t fail to surprise. He bowled a thrilling last over against Bangladesh in the 2016 World T20 and produced a match winning innings during the final Test match against Sri Lanka. He has almost broken the internet with his latest hairstyle. Known as the Indian ‘Russell’, Pandya’s all-around ability and street smartness, often resembled the Caribbean style of living.

As India took on Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI, Pandya’s hairstyle became the talk of the town. Pandya scored 19 runs from 18 balls today coming in to bat at No.4, while the Indian team posted a massive 375/5 on the board. Opener Rohit Sharma scored his second consecutive hundred and got out for 104 off 88 balls. Skipper Virat Kohli brought up his 29th ton in ODI cricket, as he blasted a 96-ball 131. Manish Pandey, playing his first game of the series, scored a fifty, while MS Dhoni marked his 300th appearance in ODI cricket with an unbeaten 49 off 42 balls.

Harsha not impressed

The internet has gone bonkers after watching Pandya’s latest hairstyle. The Indian cricketers often try new looks. The likes of KL Rahul, skipper Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Shikhar Dhawan like to experiment with new trends. The all-rounder’s latest hairdo has received mixed reactions from the fans.

Interestingly, commentator Harsha Bhogle too said that Pandya’s hairstyle is not the best he has had. The Baroda boy has grown over the last one year and has played some vital knocks for the team. His cameo in the finals of the Champions Trophy against Pakistan will be remembered for a long time, considering the fact that he was the only bright light for the team in an otherwise forgettable game.

The 23-year-old has played 20 ODIs for India so far, scoring 289 runs at an average of 36.12, along with two fifties. He recently made his debut in Test cricket and currently boasts an average of 59.33.
