Twitter Reactions: India bundled out for 92, South Africa make it 2-0: India got plucked for 92. Dubious distinctions have been written today. From first team to get out in T20I on Indian soil to second lowest T20I score for India.
It all started with Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissal and soon both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma got run-out. Thereafter the entire team was sent packing, and the attacking, supreme best line-up fell down like nine pins and were bowled out for 92.
The way the Indian innings played, the pitch which the curator had claimed a good enough for 200 wickets, looked uncertain for the batsmen. South Africa didn’t start off well either and Hashim Amla fell prey to Ravi Ashwin, so did skipper Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers.
But nothing thereafter went India’s way; it was evident by the way the fans behaved, and the game was disrupted in the 13th over of the South African innings, with the Proteas placed in a winning position with 70 for the loss of 3 wickets and well ahead of the D/L statistics.
Play resumed after some time and though Axar Patel got Bahardein, JP Duminy and David Miller completed the formalities in 17.1 overs, winning the game by 6 wickets and with that the series as well.
