The start of Day 3 of the second Test between West Indies and India was delayed due to rain. As the covers went off, Ajinkya Rahane and Wriddhiman Saha began from where they left as both put up a 98 runs partnership for the sixth wicket before Jason Holder who had bowled a superb spell finally managed to get one.

If Day 2 was about KL Rahul, Day 3 was Rahane smashing the Windies bowlers around the park. He went on to register his seventh Test hundred as he put India in a commanding position in the second Test. He now has 90+ scores in every country he has played in.

On the other hand, Amit Mishra and Umesh Yadav also played good cameos as India declared their innings at 500/9 with an enormous lead of 304 runs. For West Indies, Roston Chase picked up a five-wicket haul. West Indies didn’t come into bat immediately as it started raining. Tea was taken earlier but no further play was possible.

With the forecast expecting showers for the next 2 days, it puts India in a dire situation considering they have got this Test in the bag. The umpires had a long chat before coming to the conclusion that the conditions weren’t evasive for play.
