West Indies continued Day 3 from their overnight score of 33/1. They made the Indian bowlers toil hard before Amit Mishra finally got Devendra Bishoo’s wicket as Wriddhiman Saha had him stumped. Mohammad Shami then struck thrice as he rattled the Windies top order which fell apart from 90/2 to 92/5.

Kraigg Brathwaite played a lone battle for the West Indies with a hard-fought innings of 74 as other batsmen failed to show any kind of promise. At 144/7, it seemed like the Caribbean innings will fold up under 200 but skipper Jason Holder and wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich hung in for a 69-run partnership for the 8th wicket.

The frustration finally ended for India as Umesh Yadav claimed two scalps of consecutive balls while Mishra put the final nail in the coffin. Both Shami and Yadav were brilliant as they got 4 wickets each. India gained a lead of 323 and also enforced the follow on.

Following on, West Indies lost Brathwaite early as Ishant Sharma got his first wicket of the Test match. WI ended up at 21/1 at stumps on Day 3 with Darren Bravo and Rajendra Chandrika on the crease. With 2 days left, India look good enough to seal a victory unless of course, West Indies come up with a complete miracle.

Twitter was again up to it’s entertaining best. Right from lauding Shami and Yadav to trolling Carlos Brathwaite and poor tactics by West Indies. Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the cricketing action on Day 3:
