Twitter Reactions: India rout South Africa to go up 1-0 in the series: Indian spin trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra ensured that India defended a less challenging 218 runs to win the 1st Test with ease by 108 runs. They spun a web around the Proteas batsmen to bundle them out for 109.
Earlier, India was bowled out a paltry 201 in the second innings by the South Africa with the help of its spinners Imran Tahir (4/48) and Simon Harmer (4/61). India with the help of its first innings lead of 17 runs, put forth a target of 218 runs in front of South Africa to chase.
For South Africa, none of their batsmen looked determined enough to stay on the crease and steady the innings. Hashim Amla disappointed at a crucial time after he was dismissed for a duck by Ravindra Jadeja. AB de Villiers (16 runs 20 balls) and Faf du Plessis (1 runs from 4 balls) also failed to take their team home. Their hopes of chasing the target were crushed after their departures
Opener Van Zyl came to bat at number 6 as seamer Vernon Philander was made to open the innings, was the highest scorer for South Africa. He made just 36 runs off 82 balls.
The match looked wide open and up for grabs for the Proteas, but they failed to show any resistance. Their wickets kept falling one after another. Ravindra Jadeja (5/21) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3/39) enabled India to secure a victory in the opening Test match.
When Asian batsmen fail in Aus, Eng, NZ & SA they are chastised; but when Aus, Eng, NZ & SA batsmen fail in Asia the pitch is. #IndvSA

Before this Test, the Indians didn't want to play Ravindra Jadeja, now the South Africans refuse to play him. #INDvSA

Please don't be alarmed by the promptness of the Mohali test. We in Punjab like to finish work fast. More time for eating and drinking ?
— Gaurav Kapur (@gauravkapur) November 7, 2015
I think, if we start immediately there's enough time to play one more test in Mohali and perhaps a T20 after that.
— Ramesh Srivats (@rameshsrivats) November 7, 2015
But Jadeja is only in the team because of Dhoni and CSK.

and with the way SA played on this pitch they should not be surprised if they see turning tracks for next three Tests…#INDvSA

Well played India!??Too good in these conditions. They will want same sort of pitch for remaining tests, meaning toss becomes VERY important!

So that's seven Test wins in a row at home. Be honest, you didn't expect this right after England beat India in India in 2012-13. #INDvSA

India hv won last 7 Tests on the trot on home soil… Would be no.1 if they play as many Tests at home as Pakistan play in UAE (home ground)

Just like playing seam-swing is an art…playing spin is an art too. Indians bowled and batted spin better. Well played ???? #IndvSA

With all due respect 218 to many for SA on this wicket… They might have to bat 2 time to get these.
