Twitter Reactions: James Vince's blitzkrieg guides Multan Sultans to their 4th consecutive win in PSL 2020

Multan Sultans came face to face against Islamabad United in a game of PSL 2020. The rain played a major role in the match as it forced the officials to cut short the length to 9 over /side of the match. The fans had expected an enthralling contest but a blistering knock played by James Vince turned it into a one-sided affair.

Earlier, Multan Sultans skipper Shan Masood won the toss and elected to bowl. But, they didn’t get off to a good start as the openers of United took the charge against the bowlers from the very first over of the innings. However, they failed to do much damage as Luke Ronchi got out off Junaid Khan in the third over of the innings. Ronchi scored 18 runs off 10 balls before getting dismissed in the match.

On the other hand, Munro never looked in a mood to spare the opposition bowlers, who effortlessly smacked them for boundaries and sixes on the back of his sublime hitting. He mustered 25 runs off 12 balls studded with one boundary and three sixes.

Just after his dismissal, the scoring rate of the team came down as none of the other batsmen could manage to score good runs with the bat. By the end, Islamabad United managed to score a total of 91 runs for a loss of seven wickets in stipulated 9 overs. Imran Tahir and Junaid Khan emerged as the best bowler for their side, who grabbed two wickets each.

Coming onto the chase, Multan Sultans got off a to a flying start on the back of their openers. Zeeshan Ashraf and James Vince were playing at their best that left United struggling as they impressed with their sublime hitting. The duo stitched a partnership of 68 runs for the first wicket.

Later on, Shadab Khan broke the dangerous-looking partnership as he dismissed Zeeshan Ashraf in the fifth over. Meanwhile, James Vince from the other end looked in full flow, who was effortlessly hitting boundaries and sixes that took the match away from Islamabad United.

In the end, Shan Masood and Co. chased the target in 6.4 overs courtesy to Vince’s knock. This also helped Sultans in grabbing two important points in the PSL 2020 league table. Moreover, the England international was awarded Player of the Match for his scintillating knock of 61 runs off 24 balls studded with 11 boundaries and one six.
