Sunrisers Hyderabad hadn’t lost a single game in this season of the Indian Premier League playing at home, they had built up their entire points table score with wins in their den the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium but the Rising Pune Supergiant continuing their resurgent winning run outplayed them to win the game by 12 runs.
David Warner won the toss and decided to bowl first considering the wicket will play the same in the second inning but it was a relatively slower surface, apart from Ben Stokes no batter from Pune could score freely except MS Dhoni hit a few big blows towards the end to propel RPS to 148/8 in 20 overs. It wasn’t going to be easy for SRH to sail through.
Rahul Tripathi failed to get going as he was run out after a mix-up with his opening partner; Ajinkya Rahane scored 22 off 20 skipper Steve Smith found it difficult to get going and scored under run a ball despite a couple of lives but eventually fell for 34 off 39. Stokes’ 39 and Dhoni’s 31 from 21 proved to be the difference. MSD took on the purple cap holder Bhuvneshwar Kumar and hit him for 17 runs in the 19th over as he ended his 4 overs spending 39 without a wicket.
For Sunrisers to win the game it was important for the openers to come good but with the ball not coming on to the bat as nicely as he would have liked Warner also found it difficult to play his shots. Shikhar Dhawan charged at the bowlers but fell soon for 19 as Ben Stokes found the first success with the ball; Kane Williamson didn’t get the time to settle in and was accounted for on the 2nd ball after hitting a boundary by Stokes.
Yuvraj Singh played a challenging knock of 47 but all other batsmen got out for single digit scores as SRH’s chase was always behind. Unadkat got RPS the most important wicket of Yuvraj to literally seal the game.
Jaydev Unadkat bowling the last over picked up a hat-trick and bowled a maiden with that, also completed a five-wicket haul to end the game with figures of 4-1-30-5 and was awarded the Man of the Match.

This is astonishing stuff. With all the pressure of defending 12 runs in 6 balls, Unadkat probably bowled the over of his life! ? #SRHvRPS
