Twitter Reactions: Kohli’s ton in vain as Lions roar in the den

The Royal Challengers Bangalore flew to Rajkot to play the Gujarat Lions in their den. Skipper Virat Kohli won the toss for the first time in five matches and decided to bat first like they did in the last game (though it was forced). Powered by Kohli’s stupendous hundred RCB got 180/2 in their 20 overs and it looked like a really good total considering the fact that the pitch was slowing down and Challengers had three specialist spinners in their lineup but GL got off to a great start with Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum coming out all guns blazing, the duo made sure they were scoring well over the required rate and that never let the pressure of the scoring rate catch up during the chase.
After the match, for his magnificent hundred Virat was awarded the man of the match. He also holds the orange cap but was not really pleased since his team lost. Kohli said, “Doesn’t feel good now. Would have liked to cross the line. Didn’t plan it, didn’t feel at any stage that I would get to that hundred. The opportunity came at the end to strike a few.”
On Gayle’s availability, he said, “Gayle should be back for the next game, we have missed him but have done well with the bat. Bowling’s execution isn’t up to the mark. The wicket was slowish and we had to change the pace and keep the ball on the body. It has to be in a winning cause. These things (Orange Cap and the ton) don’t matter. Not having that winning feeling about the team is never a good feeling.”
Here is how Twitter reacted right through the GL v RCB match:

Always felt that 19th is a more critical over than the 20th….Watson might have nothing to defend. #GLvRCB

Jadeja gave only 17 runs but bowled only 3 overs. Trick missed by #GL 180 on this pitch is a mountain, perhaps, too high to climb #GLvRCB
