Twitter Reactions: Krunal Pandya’s allround show helps Mumbai Indians thrash DD by 80 runs

Mumbai Indians hosted the Delhi Daredevils at their second home ground at Visakhapatnam. Zaheer Khan won the toss and elected to bat first. Daredevils made three changes as skipper Zaheer came back in so did Imran Tahir and Shahbaz Nadeem. Mumbai after trying Unmukt Chand in the last match brought Martin Guptill in to open along with the skipper Rohit Sharma. To accommodate Guptill, Tim Southee had to sit out and R Vinay Kumar replaced him.

Mumbai Indians had the kind of start they were looking for as both Rohit and Guptill went after the DD bowlers. Though the skipper got out for 31 off 21 his partner continued playing his shots. Krunal Pandya joined Guptill and the rookie took the charge and all eyes were on him. The New Zealander played a knock of 48 off 42 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. Pandya stayed there for just 37 balls but belted 86 runs powered by 7 fours and 6 sixes. He was especially severe on the DD leggies. Tahir spent 59 in his four overs and bowled his most expensive spell. Amit Mishra and Nadeem also went for 42 in their 4. The tree spinners got just 1 wicket among themselves and that was for Mishra. At the end of 20 overs Mumbai posted 206/4.

Being asked to chase 207 Daredevils were never really in the chase and lost their first wicket in form of Mayank Agrawal in the second over of the game. They kept losing wickets at a regular interval as the MI bowlers enjoyed a really good outing. Jasprit Bumrah was at his best returning with figures of 4-0-13-3 whereas Pandya got2 wickets in his 2.1 overs for 15 runs. On the first ball of the last over the rookie left-arm spinner clean bowled Zaheer and with that MI completed a thumping win.
