Twitter Reactions:- Mujeeb Zadran becomes the third Afghanistan player to find takers in the IPL Auction

The IPL Auction continued on Sunday morning as teams looked forward to build their squad with a minimum requirement of 18 players. Yesterday, after retaining Rashid Khan for a whopping ₹ 9CR, SRH managed to get all rounder Mohammed Nabi back in their ranks. Since both these Afghanistan players were sold last year, it didn’t come as a surprise.

However, there was a third Afghan player who found takers. 16 year old Mujeeb Zadran who has been creating an enigma recently got his first shot at the Indian Premier League. In an auction where the likes of Nathan Lyon and no.1 ranked T20 international bowler, Ish Sodhi went unsold, Zadran was bought for ₹4 crores.

The young sensation from Afghanistan has been buzzing in international cricket. Born in March 2001, He is the first ever player from the 21st century to play international cricket. The youngster also got a four wicket haul recently. Zadran is also regarded as the only player to take a six wicket haul twice in youth ODI cricket.

Having set his base price at 50 lakhs, the bidding war took off in order to grab the spinning talent. While Delhi Daredevils tried to get him in their squad, it was Kings XI Punjab who attained him. With a top ranked bowler like Ravichandran Ashwin in Punjab, Zadran would be willing to share the dressing room with him.

Twitter was quite excited to watch the young talent in the IPL. They were excited to see another Afghan player making a mark in the auction. In no time, there were discussions about what an impact player Zadran is. The Afghan spinner also did well in the Bangladesh Premier League.
