At a very important juncture, the Paarl Rocks recorded a hard-fought, well-deserved win. The track at the Boland Park for the game against Jozi Stars wasn’t easy. But the fact that the visitors might have made a tactical blunder at the toss worked to their advantage. Temba Bavuma and his men possibly didn’t read the pitch right and opted to bat first. Furthermore, they experimented by pushing Chris Gayle down the order.
This move didn’t work in their favour. Ryan Rickelton, who was asked to open, scored a sluggish 34-ball 30. At three, Gayle could only score one run before Dwaine Pretorius got him LBW. Reeza Hendricks, too, couldn’t make an impact and got out for he scored 40 runs from 34 balls. Out-of-form Rassie van der Dussen remained unbeaten on 30 off 29 while Dan Christian scored 23 off 19 balls. This over-cautious approach got them to just 129/3 in 20 overs and it was a pity that Temba Bavuma, who is one of the best batsmen for the side, didn’t even walk out into the middle.
James Vince plays an impressive knock yet again for the Paarl Rocks
On another occasion, the openers of Paarl Rocks failed to impress. Both Henry Davids and Cameron Delport got out for 2 runs each. Faf du Plessis also got out for only 5 runs. But Dwaine Pretorius and James Vince came to the rescue to wonderful knocks. The all-rounder scored 37 runs from only 26 balls in an innings that included two sixes and three fours.
James Vince, batting down the order, impressed once again with a 28-ball 43. The England cricketer took the onus under the pressure situation and played some great shots. Towards the end, wicket-keeper Mangaliso Mosehle mustered 31 runs which helped put the team in a good position. The Paarl Rocks completed the chase in 16.1 overs with four wickets to spare. Kagiso Rabada picked up two wickets with the ball while Duanne Olivier accounted for three.
The Paarl Rocks fans were delighted with this victory and hoped that their team gets through to the knockouts. They enjoyed the all-round efforts from Dwaine Pretorius. They even applauded James Vince and Mangaliso Mosehle for their knocks.

Imagine playing rubbish and at the end of the day splash a lot of money to Chris Gayle?
Close the team, get #motsepe to purchasea stake at Spartans and try to dominate like what they trying to do with the Bulls #MSL2019
