The Manchester Stadium hosted the lone T20 International game between England and Pakistan. The visitors went on to win the one-off game and series 1-0. Earlier in the day, Morgan won the toss as England elected to put runs on the board first. Sarfaraz made his captaincy debut for Pakistan.

While England began well with Hales taking on the Pakistan bowlers, they lost way in the middle. The top 3 got out in a hustle. Just when it seemed Buttler was settling onto the crease, he got out, following which a collapse triggered.

Riaz and Hasan bowled quite well at the death as the hosts could only manage 135/7 in their quota of 20 overs. This hurt the English prospects as it was nowhere near a competitive total. Imad Wasim and Hassan got a couple of wickets while Riaz struck thrice as Pakistan put up a wonderful bowling performance.

The only hope for England was to pick some early wickets and try to exert the pressure on Pakistan. However, openers Latif and Sharjeel had other plans. Both portrayed a magnificent display of pinch hitting as Pakistan cruised to 100/0 in just 10 overs.

Both batsmen went on to score scintillating half centuries. While Sharjeel raced his way to 59(36) with 3 maximums, Latif also showed great intent with his 59(42)*. In a completely one-sided encounter, Pakistan won by 9 wickets powered by some splendid all-round performance.

Twitter kept everyone entertained with some amazing tweets. While praises were sung for the Pakistan batting as well as the bowling departments for some strong performances, even Sarfaraz’ captaincy was lauded. On the other hand, English batsmen were trolled followed by the English bowlers. Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game.
