India are making the best use of the absence of Steve Smith and David Warner in Australia. They won the first of the four-match Test series by 31 runs in Adelaide and will be now looking to seal the series when the second Test begins at Perth on December 14. Going into the game, India have suffered a blow as Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin and Prithvi Shaw have been ruled out of the game due to injuries. However, the green top at the new Perth Stadium will be beneficial to the pacers, who are at the peak of their prowess.

The Perth pitch’s photographs are all over on social media, and considering the amount of grass on the pitch, pacers from both the teams would be eagerly awaiting the encounter. Considering that Ashwin has been ruled out of the 2nd Test, Virat Kohli may go with an all-pace attack. Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami repaid Kohli’s faith Adelaide, and now we can expect either of Umesh Yadav or Bhuvneshwar Kumar to be added to the pace attack in Perth.

Renowned cricket commentator, Harsha Bhogle, wrote on his Twitter about how interesting the track will be for the quicks. He thus wrote, “First time at the new Optus Stadium in Perth. It is huge. Lots of talk from the locals about a bouncy track. Should be interesting”

Here’s what the BCCI tweeted

Kohli, who became the first Asian captain to register a win in the three countries as a captain, can also become the first Indian captain to win a Test series on Australian soil. Fans believe that Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be India’s trump card in the game. Some also believe that the game will not last five days due to the nature of the pitch.
