After a high-scoring previous encounter, it was time for another exciting match this time between the Peshawar Zalmi and the Multan Sultans. The former won the toss and opted to bowl first. The previous four matches had been won by the team chasing and therefore this decision did not come as a surprise.

Mohammad Rizwan continued his good form as he scored a 28-ball 41 to help his team get off to a good start. After losing the wicket of Chris Lynn early on, Rizwan along with James Vince steadied the ship for their side. They combined to form an 82-run partnership which set the tone for the finishers to do their job.

Vince who was in terrific form during the BBL continued his golden run with a score of 84 in just 55 deliveries. His knock included nine boundaries and three sixes. Sohaib Maqsoob played a good cameo of 36 runs to help his team reach a score of 193 at the end of their 20 overs.

Haider Ali finishes off in style

Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Irfan, and Saqib Mahmood were among the wickets for the Peshawar side while Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Wahab Riaz had an off day. Chasing 194 was not going to be easy, however, the batting line-up surely had the skill and prowess to achieve the target.

Good contributions from the top three meant that they were always in the hunt. Imam-ul-Haq and Kamran Akmal were dismissed after getting good starts of 48 and 37 respectively. Tom Kohler-Cadmore did not make this mistake and converted his start into a 50 plus score.

The top order had done their job and it was now time for the finishers to seal the game. Just when the Multan side thought they were back in the game, Haider Ali took the game away from them in a flash. His knock of 24 from 8 balls included two fours and two sixes.

He and Shoaib Malik combined to score 24 runs off the 19th over to finish the game with one over to spare. Cadmore was selected as the man of the match for his knock of 53 off 32 balls which set up the game for the Peshawar Zalmi. This was their first victory in this season of the PSL.
