Twitter Reactions: R Ashwin records his best bowling figures to win India the Nagpur Test: The wicket is assisting, the ball is turning, the batsmen aren’t very confident against the spinners but despite all that you need to pitch the ball in the right areas, for the surface to help and for it to pose questions to the batsmen. A year from today R Ashwin tried all the variety of deliveries he had learned and mastered in shorter formats of the game in Tests as well and that never got him the success he expected.

Ash registered the best bowling figures of his career with 7/66 as he got yet another 5-wicket haul, the 15^th of his career and added one more 10-wicket in a match to his tally, as at the end of South Africa’s innings his match figures read 12/98.

He was the man who led the Indian bowling in the Test series win in Sri Lanka and has been doing so in the ongoing series as well. Kohli throws the new ball to him to get the openers out and the second new ball as well to clean up whatever part of the tail is hanging in there. Ashwin now has most wickets in Tests by a bowler in 2015 and also has the most five-wicket hauls for a bowler in Tests in the year.
