Twitter Reactions: Ravi Shastri trolled for abusing Wankhede curator: Furious after South Africa piled on the agony by scoring 438 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium against India on Sunday and winning a maiden ODI series on the soil, Ravi Shastri abused the curator of the pitch Sudhir Naik, a former India opener, for producing a wicket that offered hardly any assistance to the Indian spinners.

The matter came to light after Naik lodged a complaint against Shastri on Monday with Mumbai Cricket Association vice-president Dilip Vengsarkar. Taking a sarcastic dig at Naik, Shastri first said, “Great wicket”, and followed with a cuss word saying, “G****** T*** Wicket” (in Marathi). Naik, taking offence to Shastri’s remark, retorted by saying, “Don’t teach me about wicket, I have also played for India.”

Call it a turf war or pitches battle, not many are amused with Shastri’s alleged outburst against fellow Test Cricketer Naik. The matter has even reached the top officials of the BCCI with Anurag Takur saying the guilty, whosoever be it, will not be spared.

In a series where the visitors have outplayed the hosts by adapting to the heat, to the conditions and the pitches, the Indian team has resorted to all sorts of excuses. First, it was against the umpiring by Vineet Kulkarni, and now this recent pitch fiasco. Whether the BCCI takes any action is to be seen but Twitter certainly does not spare you for such acts. Shastri has come under attack from fans and also ex-cricketers for his bad behaviour towards Naik. Many slammed his outburst while some called it childish to blame the pitch. Here are some of the best tweets.
