Twitter Reactions: Ravindra Jadeja's crazy hitting in final over propels CSK to 191 against RCB

The top two teams, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 faced on Sunday afternoon at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first citing heat as one of the reasons. The Men in Yellow batted well at the start but slowed down considerably as the innings progressed with the RCB bowlers pulling it back nicely.

However, all the efforts went in vain in the final over as Ravindra Jadeja smacked five massive sixes and a four off Harshal Patel to propel his team to 191 runs after 20 overs. It was crazy hitting from the southpaw as he forced Harshal who had taken three wickets until then to bowl to his strengths and plundered as many as 37 runs in the over.

CSK had scored 154 runs after 19 overs and RCB had it under control until then before their best bowler of the season lost the plot. It started with Ravindra Jadeja smacking a six over cow corner. The second maximum also went in the same area. To make things worse, Harshal bowled a waist-high full toss which went for a six as well.

Things went from worse to double-worse as the free-hit also went out of the ground and all the fielders looked helpless. To cap off the over, Jadeja slammed the final ball for four to churn out a massive 37 runs from the over. He also scored a 25-ball fifty ending the innings unbeaten on 62 off just 28 deliveries.

Ravindra Jadeja was dropped on 0 by Daniel Christian

RCB had themselves to blame for the situation as Daniel Christian had dropped Ravindra Jadeja when he was yet to open his account. It came back to haunt them big time and have to chase down 192 to register their fifth consecutive win of the season. Jadeja will also have a role to play with the ball now as the ball is turning.

As far as the other batsmen are concerned, Faf du Plessis continued his good form from the last game scoring 50 off 40 deliveries. Ruturaj Gaikwad also did well mustering 33 runs off 25 balls. But all the limelight was stolen by Ravindra Jadeja who changed the complexion of the game completely.
