The English team made amends from their last game at Lords as they won by 4 wickets to take a lead of 2-0 in the series over Pakistan. The match began with Azhar Ali winning the toss as the visitors elected to bat first. Pakistan missed Hafeez due to an injury.
Batting first, Pakistan had a blunder start as they were reduced to 2/3 with Sharjeel and the captain back in the hut scoring ducks. From there on, it was the Sarfaraz show as he recovered Pakistan from the early slump. While Malik and Babar got starts, they couldn’t convert into big ones.
However, Imad Wasim stayed there till the end and played as a perfect batting partner to Sarfaraz who went on to register a century. This effort made sure that Pakistan had something to defend but 251 was never going to be enough. Wood and Woakes took 3 wickets each as Pakistan were bundled on the penultimate ball.
While the English openers failed to provide a good start for their team, Joe Root played a classy knock 89 runs as he lead their way to a successful chase. Eoin Morgan also scored a superb fifty while Stokes also chipped in with a quickfire 42 off 30 balls.

By the time Root got out, England were well past as Moeen Ali stayed there till the end and took England through with 4 wickets and 15 balls to spare. Pakistan would now be looking to come back stronger as one more loss means they’ll be out in contention for the series.
Twitter had some interesting takedowns during the England-Pakistan game. While Pakistan’s top order was criticised for a poor performance, Sarfaraz was praised for a brilliant knock. On the other hand, the English middle order was lauded for some excellent batting.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:

Pakistani batting has to go from a scared, withdrawn, judged teenager to a strong, mature, responsible confident adult. #PakvsEng
