The second season of the T10 League kicked off in grand style. The fireworks continued in the second game as well with some great entertainment on display. Eoin Morgan’s Kerala Knights met Shahid Afridi’s Pakhtoons in this encounter. In the total 20 overs, over 200 runs were scored. However, in the midst of this glorious hitting came a special performance from Sandeep Lamichhane.

The off-spinner went on to pick three wickets in his two overs thus helping the Knights outdo the Pakhtoons. The former won the match by 8 wickets and Sandeep was adjudged the ‘Man of the Match’. The Kerala Knights are now second on the points table in Group A after the Rajputs.

Lamichhane ends up being the difference between both the sides

The pitch at Sharjah is an absolute belter and the batsmen can play with a lot of freedom. High scores are often the norm at the venue. The Kerala Knights won the toss and put the opposition into bat first in the match. Andre Fletcher provided the Pakhtoons with a good start by scoring 32 off 14 balls. But, his partner, Chadwick Walton ended up consuming a lot of deliveries and was run out after he got 12 off 11 balls.

Sandeep picked up two more wickets after dismissing Fletcher. However, Cameron Delport and Liam Dawson put their heads down and pushed the total as far as possible. Therefore, the team ended with 109 runs for the loss of 5 wickets after 10 overs which seemed just below par at the half-way mark.

In the chase, Chris Gayle failed to convert the good start and got out for just 13 runs. He struck a six and a four before he going back to the dugout. But, a 14-ball 40 from Paul Stirling and an unbeaten 20-ball 46 from Eoin Morgan ensured that the Knights got over the line with 2.1 overs to spare. Morgan, who played some extremely aggressive cricket at the start slowed down slightly after Stirling fell. Kieron Pollard raced his way to 11 runs which were scored of 6 balls to finish things off.

Twitterati was glad to see Sandeep Lamichhane deliver the goods in such demanding conditions. They were also enthralled watching the big hitting from the batsmen from both the teams.
