The Windies cricket team staged an unbelievable comeback in the second ODI against England. They won the match by 26 runs to level the series 1-1 with another three games to go. Shimron Hetmyer with the bat and Jason Holder with the ball have to be credited for pulling this great win off.

The Brits had an upper hand in the majority of the game. However, within a span of five balls, Holder changed the complexion of the game by picking up three crucial wickets. Sheldon Cottrell also had a great night as he picked up his first ODI five-wicket haul.

Shimron Heytmer registers his fourth ODI century

It was a good toss to win for England in Barbados and they had no second thoughts about fielding first. The Windies openers got the team off to a good start. John Campbell, Shai Hope and Darren Bravo – all of them got off to good starts. However, they failed to convert and perished for 23, 33 and 25 runs respectively. The centurion in the first game, Chris Gayle, was bang on target yet again. He looked great and all set for another big score.

However, the Jamaican got out as soon as he reached 50. From here on, it was all about Shimron Hetmyer. With slight support from the other end, the 22-year-old unleashed his potential and scored an unbeaten 83-ball 104. His century that included seven fours and four sixes helped the home team post a decent total of 289/6 on the board. Yet, it was surely not a par score.

Jason Holder and Sheldon Cotrell turn things around brilliantly

Even though they lost their openers early, England always had enough depth in their batting to finish this chase. However, they ended bottling it up out of nowhere. Sheldon Cottrell first accounted for the wickets of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow early in the innings. After they were down to 10/2, Eoin Morgan and Joe Root built a good partnership before the latter fell for 36 after a 50-run stand.

Morgan, just like in the series opener, looked good and scored 70 runs. But, there was Ben Stokes at the other end who was going strong. He along with Jos Buttler put up a good partnership and England needed 62 off 61 balls at one stage. However, Jason Holder first dismissed Stokes for 79 in the 40th over. When he came back to bowl the 42nd over, he picked up the scalps of Buttler and Tom Curran off consecutive deliveries.

Cotrell then wrapped things up by quickly getting through the lower-order. From 228/4 at one stage, England collapsed to 263/10 in 47.4 overs. Twitterati went berserk as the new RCB recruit Shimron Hetmyer notched up a brilliant century. They also praised Jason Holder and Sheldon Cottrell for their efforts.
