Shivam Dube, the young Indian all-rounder played a swashbuckling knock in the 2nd T20I against West Indies in Trivandrum. He made the mockery of the visiting bowlers and smashed them across the park throughout his innings.

Kieron Pollard, the West Indian skipper, won the toss and elected to field. Moreover, his bowlers proved the skippers decision right dismissing the in-form opener KL Rahul early. The Indian opener tried to play a slog sweep off Khary Pierre but couldn’t time it well and was caught by Shimron Hetmyer.

Shivam Dube roars in 2nd T20I against West Indies

Everyone expected for Virat Kohli would come out to bat at number three but to everyone’s surprise, Shivam Dube came out to bat. Many would have thought that the experiment to play the young all-rounder in the top order might backfire but that wasn’t the case

Shivam Dube got off to a slow start and took his time to get settled on the wicket. He got his first boundary against Jason Holder as he tried to play a pull shot on a short-pitched delivery only to edge it for a four. It was a much-needed boundary for Shivam Dube to get some momentum in his innings. In the next over against the same bowler, he smashed a six and boundary on consecutive deliveries.

There was also a heated moment between Kieron Pollard and Shivam Dube in the 8th over of the innings. The left-hander played a drive towards mid-wicket and ran for a double. At the same time, Pollard was coming back towards the stumps and a collision between the two missed by a whisker. Both the players weren’t happy and the heated moment worked in favour of Shivam Dube as he went on to smash three sixes in the same over.

Later on, in the 9th over of the innings, he completed his maiden half-century in T20I cricket off just 27 balls. However, the young player could add only four runs before he was caught by Hetmyer off Hayden Walsh. Shivam Dube mustered 54 runs off 30 balls before his knock came to a halt. After watching a swashbuckling knock from Shivam Dube, the netizens were delighted for the youngster and congratulated him over his knock.
