In what turned out to be South Africa’s largest victory margin, they smashed the Bangladesh team by an innings and 254 runs. Kagiso Rabada was rewarded the Man of the Match for his ten-wicket match haul while Dean Elgar was adjudged the Player of the Series.

Soumya Sarkar and Mominul Haque were dismissed cheaply by Rabada who seemed to be in a fierce form. Imrul Kayes tried to hang on at the crease before he edged one to Quinton de Kock. Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim too failed to make a difference as Bangladesh lost four quick wickets.

Mahmudullah batted really well and attempted to give a fight to the hosts. However, once he got out, there was a collapse. From 135/4 to 172 all out, Bangladesh lost 6 wickets in a space of 37 runs. The likes of Liton Das and Sabbir Rahman were sent back to the pavilion by medium pacer Andile Phehlukwayo.

The lower order fell like a pack of cards as not much was expected of them following how the top order dealt with the pace and aggression of Rabada. The Bangladeshi team failed to last even 3 days as they suffered an innings defeat at the hands of South Africa.

Rabada went on to bag the second five-wicket haul of the game and ended up with match figures of 10/63. Phehlukwayo took three wickets while both Wayne Parnell and Duanne Olivier managed to get a wicket each. South Africa sealed the series 2 nil as Faf du Plessis & Co. lifted the Sunfoil Trophy.

Twitter reacted to a completely one-sided contest by trolling Bangladesh. While South Africa continued to dominate in all the three departments, the visitors failed to make any impact on the game.
