Australian skipper Steve Smith after batting with substance for most part of the first session had a real lapse in concentration as he chose to let alone a Ravindra Jadeja delivery which went on to crash into his off-stump. It was a real brain fade moment for the Aussie skipper who termed his attempt to take help from the dressing room for a DRS call during the previous Test a brain fade.
The ball was pitched outside his leg-stump and the right-hander wanted to pad it away though he made a real stride but couldn’t get it all the way through. It wasn’t way outside the leg and hit the rough Smith was caught in a really bad situation where he decided to leave the wrong ball. He watched the ball take that turn after pitching and move into his stumps and uproot the off-stump.
It was a pretty similar dismissal to what had happened on the last tour. Jadeja a rookie then had bowled Smith who shoulder armed him back then as well in the Kotla Test. The wicket has really pumped the Indian team up. Australia were looking pretty comfortable in the first session with the Indian bowlers bowling outside the line of the off-stump, they were happy leaving the ball.
Ishant Sharma then set Matt Renshaw up for a beautiful for a fuller delivery that came back in with the shine, it was a really difficult ball to move into the left-hander with reverse swing. Ishant was pumped up and so was the Indian team, in the very next over Jadeja, picked Smith for 21 and the scoreboard read 63/4.
Twitterati felt this was a real brain fade moment for the Australian captain and was trolled all over. Here are some of the best tweets:
