The Trinbago Knight Riders pummeled the Jamaica Tallawahs side by a whopping margin of 75 runs to post their 4th victory in the 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Wielding the willow first, the Knight Riders posted a total of 167/4 on the board in their allotted 20 overs.
And, it was the experienced duo of Lendl Simmons and skipper Kieron Pollard who played important roles with the willow. While Simmons scored a sedate 39-ball 42 at the top of the order, Pollard blazed his way to a murderous 39* at a strike rate of 216.66. The Trinbago skipper hit 4 sixes in his 18-ball stay out in the middle.
Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers for the Jamaica Tallawahs outfit. The left-arm spinner bowled 4 overs, picked up a solitary wicket, and gave away just 13 runs in the process as well.
Jamaica Tallawahs bundled out for just 92
In reply, the Jamaica Tallawahs produced a performance that they would like to forget. The Rovman Powell-led side was bowled out for a meager total of just 92, as the Knight Riders’ bowlers stamped their authority over the opposition.
In fact, Rovman Powell, who scored 22, was the only batsman who even crossed the 20-run mark. Also, as many as 7 willow wielders could not even score in double digits as well. For the Knight Riders, right arm pacer Ali Khan produced a superb performance with the ball in hand.
In the 3 overs that he bowled, Khan scalped 4 wickets, and also leaked just 6 runs as well. In fact, it was Khan who ripped through the Tallawahs’ top order and reduced them to 9/3 at the end of 4 overs. Apart from Khan, the likes of Ravi Rampaul and Suni Narine also chipped in with a couple of wickets as well. Needless to say, Ali Khan won the Player of the Match award.
With this victory, the Trinbago Knight Riders have now moved to second place in the points table, while the Tallawahs are stationed at the 5th place.

It's really good to see players like Ali Khan (USA), Tim David (Singapore), Sandeep Lamichhane (Nepal), Rashid Khan, Md. Nabi (Afghanistan) going round the world and making name for their respective countries. #Cricket
