LONDON, ENGLAND – SEPTEMBER 08: Kemar Roach of the West Indies salutes the crowd as he leaves the field after picking up a five wicket haul during day two of the 3rd Investec Test match between England and the West Indies at Lord’s Cricket Ground on September 8, 2017 in London, England. On a pitch that has been a paradise for the fast bowlers, we saw another load of wickets falling on a single day at the Home of Cricket. The English side resumed from their overnight score of 46/4. Ben Stokes who had taken an outstanding six-wicket haul while bowling stepped up with the bat as well.

While the rest of the batting faltered, Stokes’ innings of 60 was the reason England managed to gain a lead of 71 runs against the Windies. The English batting was bundled for a total of 194 runs. The likes of Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan failed to make a larger difference. Stuart Broad’s 38 helped England prolong their innings.

Kemar Roach was splendid as he picked up a five-wicket haul. Skipper Jason Holder also picked up four wickets. Shannon Gabriel got the most important wicket of Ben Stokes who was the only silver lining in England’s batting lineup.

Windies lost Kraig Brathwaite early as James Anderson went on to pick his 500th Test wicket. Kyle Hope continued his poor run as the visitors were reduced to 21/2. However, Kieran Powell and Shai Hope recovered them from the early slump. While Powell got out, Shai managed to stay until the end of the day.

The visitors were 93/3 at stumps with Shai Hope and Roston Chase at the crease. The West Indians managed to take a lead of 22 runs. They would be looking forward to extending their lead above 150. While England would like to chase a total under 100 on a pitch where fast bowlers have made merry.

Twitter was full praise for Jimmy Anderson who managed to complete 500 Test wickets. There was also admiration for Ben Stokes and later the Windies side too. There were some hilarious outtakes too, all in good taste.

Here are some of the amazing Twitter reactions that emerged during the day:
