Twitter Reactions: Virender Sehwag hits hundred in Ranji Trophy after international retirement: Virender Sehwag left his fans sad by announcing his retirement from international cricket on his 37th birthday, this week. But the silver lining is that he will continue to play domestic cricket. Viru hit a slow, patient and determined hundred against Ranji champions Karnatak today, coming in to bat one down; he got to his fifty in the first session and came back after to complete a pleasing hundred.

He is with a new side Haryana for Ranji Trophy 2015-16 and has been in good touch thus far. In the first game of the season Sehwag scored 92 against Maharashtra; played two useful knocks of 37 and 51 against his former team Delhi, though Haryana conceded the game.

Since he is a retired cricketer now and would not carry the pressure of scoring with the objective of making a national comeback Viru can bat that much more freely and enjoy his game.

At the moment Virender Sehwag is batting unbeaten on 108 from 137 balls; he has already struck 12 fours and 3 biggies and has been scoring at a strike rate of 78.83. A good knock coming in from Sehwag will definitely boost the confidence of his team since they are up against ruling Ranji champions and the fact that when Viru gets a hundred he makes them big ones makes the match even more exciting.

Here are the tweets that came in as soon as Sehwag crossed into the triple figures.
