Twitter Reactions: Young Rabada stars in thrilling win: Rohit Sharma’s century went in vain, as Rabada held his nerves to guide South Africa to a thrilling win in the 1st ODI between India and South Africa. AB de Villiers turned out to be the sheet anchor, as the right hander guided South Africa to a mammoth 303 for 5. India on the other hand started on a good note, as both the openers picked the gaps at ease.
Dhawan’s dismissal was the talking point, as Rohit Sharma took India close to the total. Imran Tahir dismissed Rohit and Raina in quick succession, as India choked to provide the finishing touch. When Rohit Sharma got out, India needed 35 to win from 23 ball. The stage was set for MSD to fire through all cylinders and finish the game in his trademark style. But South Africa came back at the right time and at the end it was South Africa who got the better of India by 5 runs.
Dhoni's hitting ability is on the wane…and his bowlers are leaking too many in the death overs. #INDvSA 2/2 @StarSportsIndia

Two captains at opposite ends of the spectrum….AB's destructive prowess & also has bowlers who can bowl in the death. 1/2 #IndvSA

How important was that 47th over in the chase from Tahir? Two wickets for four runs, including Rohit's https://t.co/OY5WJPRPVh #INDvSA

No Dhoni special today. Ro's 150 goes in vain. That last ball six of AB makes the difference! Congrats SA! #INDvSA

What a performance by Kagiso Rabada. The youngest member of the side and he has defended 11 off the final over. Stunning. #indvsa

Sharma continues his excellent knock and brings up his 150 from 132 balls. IND need 35 from 25 to win. #INDvSA pic.twitter.com/jYbiOdmR69

Even when he is not at his best, he can still get an International hundred at a strike rate of 142. Brilliant AB! #INDvSA

That Ashwin's absence impacted the result of this match is not an excuse. It's a fact. Having said that, well done, South Africa. #IndvsSA

Dhoni explains what went wrong: Rohit was trying to win it with his bat, while Dhoni was trying to win it with his thigh pad.

Rohit scored 50 runs more than ABD, but the latter ended up on the winning side, so the Man of the Match should go to.

Had this been 2011 Dhoni would have finished the match with 4 balls to spare . A lot has changed since then and his big shots is missing

In 10 days Rohit has played two sensational innings…unfortunately both in the losing cause. His were the best innings of both matches IMHO
