Twitter Reactions: Younis Khan retires from ODIs: The Pakistani veteran has announced his retirement from One-day international cricket. The first ODI match against England at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi today, will be his last match.
“I have taken the decision to retire after consulting my friends, associates and family members. It is never easy to retire from any form. But I am happy that I have been able to play a central role in many of Pakistan’s victories,” the former captain said.
“I am satisfied with the future of Pakistan cricket as there is no shortage of talent in our country and I am sure the young players will also play with the same passion and adhere strictly to discipline and fitness,” Younis said.
Younis last played one dayers eight months ago in the World Cup 2015 where he plucked only 43 runs and was later on dropped. Despite not being part of the Sri Lanka series, the selectors roped him in for the England series, courtesy exceptional form in Tests.
Younis, who will be 38 later on this month, amassed 308 runs in six innings at an average of 50.33 in the recently-concluded Test series in UAE.
A sublime ODI record will be on display, Younis has scored 7,240 runs with seven hundreds and 48 half-centuries in 264 one-day matches.
A legend of the game, Younis Khan has many followers all over the world. Let’s check out how Twitter reacted to his shocking announcement earlier in the day.

To me, timing of the retirement makes little sense. Playing or not playing this game will have no bearing on #YounisKhan 's career #PAKvENG
