Yuvraj Singh has been recalled to the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against England. Virat Kohli, perhaps India’s best batsman at the moment will be leading the side with his predecessor Mahendra Singh Dhoni present in the ranks as well.

While Kohli and Yuvraj remain to be the best of friends when it comes to the outset, there is a clear narrative the selectors are trying to formulate by the teams announced for the practice matches. It is also clear that Dhoni wants to give Virat enough time to build the squad when it comes to the bigger picture of the 2019 World Cup.

Some of the selections in the side have also been quite interesting as well. One of the few has been Suresh Raina, who has been brought back into the T20I side after a seemingly a long hiatus. Moreover, the fact of the matter remains that he is one of the better cricketers in the country at the moment.

Rishabh Pant has also gotten the nod in recent times courtesy of his impressive batting performances in the Ranji Trophy. While Pant will play alongside Dhoni and Rahane in the practice match, the selectors have opted to give a chance to all those who have impressed in the past three to four years.

Karnataka skipper R Vinay Kumar, U19 World Cup winner Pradeep Sangwan, and former India bowler Ashok Dinda also find their names on the practice team. However, at the moment, it would seem as though the shock news is Yuvraj Singh, someone who has seemingly fallen out of favour with the side.

Moreover, there have been a few trolls in recent times about Yuvraj’s father Yograj who has been quite critical of MS Dhoni opting not to select his son in the side.
