The selection panel met and set to select the team for India’s tour of Australia 2016 in New Delhi decided to give a few new names and a couple of old horses a chance for the big series which is also seen as India’s preparation for the World T20 2016. Among the most prominent names, Yuvraj Singh has been picked in the T20I squad while left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra makes a comeback to the squad after years.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan who struggled during South Africa’s tour to India has been retained while middle-order batsman Suresh Raina failed to maintain his spot in the ODI team and young Manish Pandey has been given the big break. Mohammad Shami pleasingly makes a comeback, while Rishi Dhawan and Brainder Saran

The T20I team has a new name with Baroda all-rounder Hardik Pandya making his way into the squad after an impressive IPL and good performances for his team in Ranji Trophy. Nehra who has done consistently well in the shortest format has got a look in keeping in mind his experience and ability to move the ball.

Ravindra Jadeja who made a solid comeback in the Test squad has earned his place back in the ODI and the T20I team.
