The Kiwis recorded a scintillating win in the third Test match to secure the series 2-1. In what was a closely fought series, the visitors managed to emerge victorious. Kane Williamson’s magnificent effort with the bat alongside that of Henry Nicholls recovered New Zealand from a spot of bother. Both combined for a 212-run partnership for the fifth wicket as they extended the lead to 200.

After some brisk batting in the morning session of Day 5, the Kiwis declared their innings. Pakistan who had to survive for two and a half sessions were reduced to 55/5 before lunch. While Babar Azam and Sarfraz Ahmed tried to save the Test match, it was a little too late. The Pakistan batting was bundled for a total of 156.

During the presentation ceremony, the New Zealand skipper Williamson was called to talk to the presenter Ramiz Raja and then receive the trophy from the sponsor. However, instead of collecting it from the sponsor, Williamson directly took the trophy from the podium and moved on to celebrate it with his team. He later even threw away the big cheque they had received. There was a lot of chaos going on.
