Twitter slams Umesh Yadav for his horror show against Australia in the first T20I

The fans were absolutely furious with Yadav's performance and took to Twitter to slam him.

After not being a part of the ODI and T20I team for the tour of Australia and New Zealand, Umesh Yadav had the chance to prove his worth in the first T20I against Australia on Sunday. Moreover, a good outing in the game would have also bolstered his case for the fourth seamer in the World Cup squad. However, the script did not pan out in the expected manner as the right-arm pacer turned out to be the villain at the end of the game.

Batting first, India could only manage to post a modest total of 126 for 7.  Comeback man KL Rahul was the only impressive contributor, scoring 50 while others just failed to get going including the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.  It looked all over for India at that moment but the hosts inspired by Jasprit Bumrah put up a stunning effort to make a game out of it.

India began their defence on a strong note by reducing the visitors to 5 for 2. An 84-run stand between D’Arcy Short and Glenn Maxwell put Australia on top but India dismissed the duo as well as Ashton Turner and Peter Handscomb in quick succession to claw their way back into the game.

With 16 runs to defend in the last two overs, Jasprit Bumrah conceded just two in the 19th to leave Yadav with 14 runs to defend in the final over, With Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins in the middle, it was a huge chance for Yadav to finish the game for India and leave his mark on the game. However, Yadav failed miserably and ended up conceding the 14 runs as Australia pulled off a thriller on the final delivery of the game.

Yadav started well, conceding a single on the first ball. However, Richardson hit him for a four on the very next delivery and then took a double to bring the equation to 7 from the last three balls. A single then brought Cummins on the strike who hit a four and a double to take Australia home.

Meanwhile, the fans were absolutely furious with Yadav’s performance and took to Twitter to slam him.
