Beuran Hendricks is having a fine outing in the ongoing Mzansi Super League. The left-handed bowler is one of the reasons behind Jozi Stars’ fine performance in the inaugural edition of the league. In a bowling lineup that consists of Duanne Olivier and Kagiso Rabada, Hendricks has carved his own identity. Hendricks had entered the competition on the back of a stunning campaign in the 4-Day Franchise Series.

Playing for the Lions, the 28-year old picked up 21 wickets in just 4 games. Those wickets came at an average of less than 18 as he picked up two five-wicket hauls in six innings.  And he has continued bowling in the same form for Jozi Stars.  He is the fourth highest wicket-taker for his side, having taken 10 wickets from 7 games. Hendricks has played seven T20Is in which he has notched eight wickets.

Bizarre from Hendricks

His last international appearance came against Bangladesh at Potchefstroom after making his debut against Australia in 2014 at Kingsmead in Durban. But amidst all this, he has grabbed the spotlight for a non-cricketing reason.  The South Africa pacer is all over the internet for his new hairstyle that is as bizarre as one can think of. While dying the hair blonde has become popular in football, it is still not common in cricket.

And with Hendricks’ hairstyle grabbing the limelight for all the wrong reasons, the cricketers will definitely be apprehensive before going for the new trend. Twitter users, meanwhile, did not waste much time as they brutally trolled Hendricks.

Meanwhile, the Jozi Stars, on Tuesday, thrashed Tshwane Spartans by 101 runs to secure a home playoff berth. Man of the Match Nono Pongolo produced the best bowling performance of the tournament, also his career best, taking six wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs to rock the Spartans’ middle order.
