History was rewritten as Virat Kohli and his men registered the first ever Test series win for India in Australia. Even though rain played a spoilsport in the Sydney Test, India already had an upper hand and won the series 2-1. However, former Indian skipper Anil Kumble predicted this series scoreline much before the Tests even started.

India’s number three batsman Cheteshwar Pujara had an extremely important role to play in this win. He smashed three centuries in the series, all at critical junctures when the side was in trouble. Pujara was the highest-run scorer in the series with 521 runs at an average slightly over 74.

Also, Jasprit Bumrah was equally critical with the ball in hand. The 25-year-old is emerging to be one of the front-line pacers for India across formats and was terrific in the series. He accounted for 21 scalps, the highest amongst bowlers from both the teams. Moreover, this was the first Test series win for Virat Kohli in SENA countries.

Anil Kumble gets the prediction perfect

While speaking to Cricket Next before the series began, the Anil Kumble said, ‘Oh! India should win 2-1’. Gaurav Kalra shared a tweet about this prediction on Twitter which left the fans bewildered and they couldn’t believe the same.

“before the series began, we asked @anilkumble1074 for his series scoreline prediction on @cricketnext – wonder what we should use his powers for next! #AUSvIND,” Kalra wrote in his tweet. The fans had some amusing responses to the same. Some joked that Anil Kumble could become the next Prime Minister of the country while a few others asked him how the Avengers would stop Thanos.
