Twitterati go nuts after Virat Kohli announces Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy

On Thursday, August 27, Indian captain Virat Kohli announced that his wife Anushka Sharma is pregnant. Anushka, a Bollywood actress as well, also dropped the same message. The power couple said that the baby is due to arrive on January 2021. The duo has been spending a lot of time at their residence as the COVID-19 pandemic kept the cricketers on their toes.

In the last few months or so, Virat posted plenty of pictures with his better-half, showing how much love they have for each other. Anushka and Kohli have also played cricket together on their terrace. Back in December 2017, the lovebirds tied the knots in a destination wedding in Italy. Thereafter, they spent their honeymoon following which they threw reception parties.

Quite often, Virat travelled overseas with Anushka for bilateral series. Both have also been appreciative of their work in their respective areas of expertise. For the time being, Virat is in Dubai for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Having reached there a few days ago, he made his fans aware and has been spending the six-day quarantine period.

A video also did the rounds where Virat was seen, sweating it out to keep himself in shape for the T20 tournament, starting September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Virat will be captaining the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), a team which is yet to get its hand on the coveted trophy after 12 seasons. Virat has been leading the side since 2013 after Daniel Vettori retired.

For the upcoming season, the Challengers have roped in Aaron Finch and quite a few renowned figures. It remains to be seen if they are able to turn their fortunes around. Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer in the history of the tournament. He also has five centuries to his credit, four of which came in 2016 when he could easily have scored 1,000 runs in a single season.

As far Virat being a father is concerned, the netizens didn’t miss out on the chance of ridiculing him. Subsequently, they churned out a number of memes.
