India thumped Sri Lanka in their fourth game of Women’s World Cup 2017. They won the game comprehensively by beating their Asian counterparts. The Sri Lankan team has in the tournament shown some form though haven’t been the most consistent side. The Indian eves came into this game with their tails up. They had beaten Pakistan by bowling them out on 74.

This obviously helped them to a great extent as they defended yet another modest score. Deepti Sharma was the star of the game as she enthralled everyone with her awe-inspiring performance. She batted superbly and also bowled a tight line. Her 78 off 110 deliveries proved to be handy for India. The Women in Blue put up 232 in their 50 overs.

The captain Mithali Raj also scored a 50 and stitched an 118-run partnership with Deepti. This partnership proved to be match-winning as the Indian bowlers once again bowled extremely well. The Indian Women have now toppled every opposition that came in their way. And thus they have almost sealed a semi-final berth for themselves.
